DIY Aloe and Coconut Oil Skin Cream
Adapted from Aging Gracefully With Essential Oils by Eric Zielinski
This super easy to make cream can be used as a carrier for any of your favorite essential oils. It is very good for the skin on its own, but even better with EOs!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon aloe vera gelly (not juice or gel)
- 1 tablespoon organic coconut oil
- 8 drops lavender essential oil
Instructions
1. Put the aloe jelly and coconut oil in a little jar with a lid and shake till well blended. You could use an immersion blender for this, but it is not needed. Once well mixed, add in the lavender essential oil and mix well.
2 . Store in a glass jar.
How to Use the AntiAging Skin Cream
If you have eczema or dry skin it can help to neutralize the PH of the skin and gentle exfoliate before using the cream. My favorite way to do this is to put some Bragg apple cider vinegar on a cotton circle ( like you’d use for cosmetics) and gently wipe the area.
Ready to Modify the AntiAging Skin Cream?
Dryness is the #1 cause of wrinkles, so we need to focus on hydrating our skin in a healthy way. This is why the recipe above works so well for antiaging, but it also works wonders for sunburns and light eczema; which are also related to dryness. You could use it for just about anything though because it’s gentle and safe for any skin!
For bad eczema, I like to cut back to 4 drops of lavender essential oil and add 2 drops each of frankincense and melalueca (tea tree) essential oils.
If you have other oils you’re wanting to use, or you think you might like to make up multiple blends you can make a large batch of the cream by just mixing the aloe gelly and coconut oil in a 1:1 ratio, then for every one ounce (2 T) of the cream blend add up to 8 drops of essential oils of your choice. You can mix and match as desired!

Add 10 cups of water. Stir soap and water until dissolved on medium-high. Add OxiClean and WashingSoda in mixture until dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. In Bucket:

Let each bucket thicken overnight. And don’t forget to stir before each use because the detergent may get lumpy or gelatinize.
